Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Amadeus (1984)

Directed by Milos Forman

Starring F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hulce, Elizabeth Berridge, Roy Dotrice

Author

A very literal adaptation of theater. Milos has always been literal and plain. He’s almost like an older version of Ron Howard.

The scene where he “improves” Salieri’s own composition is a good representation of Mozart’s genius.

Although he’s a good pianist, Hulce is borderline annoying. I might have preferred Austrian accents to American and British English for all the characters.
