A wonderful balance of action, character development, comedy, and homages to the series. Polished direction, beautiful locations, nice photography, and really sharp dialogue. I love how they’ve reinvented Bond here and worked hard to establish his character. The best Bond movie in recent years, maybe ever.

They took a chance casting Craig, but he pulls it off. Damn cool, physically fit, and definitely more masculine than Brosnan. He marvelously delivers a few nice lines, but not enough of them. I would have enjoyed even more classic Bond one-liners and puns. Mikkelsen plays a great bad guy, one of the best Bond villains ever. Green is tasty.

Interesting exploration of how Bond becomes a womanizer, though the movie might have felt more balanced if the love story angle was delivered a bit sooner. Seemed like a rushed plot point at the end of the movie.

Action sequences are great. Craig’s physicality certainly helps. Strangely, I think there are some nice action shots in the trailer that are not in the movie. Wonderfully exotic travel locations, nice second wind, and a classic ending.

Martin Campbell… He hasn’t made a good movie before (including a mediocre GoldenEye) or since. Did he just get lucky with this one?
