Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Courage Under Fire (1996)

Directed by Edward Zwick

Starring Denzel Washington, Meg Ryan, Lou Diamond Phillips, Michael Moriarty

Author

Almost like a modernized Rashomon plot, with several POV flashbacks being different variations of the truth. A few pretty cool war scenes. A war movie that was completely made up of war scenes like this would cost a zillion dollars but would be awesome.

Good characters. Meg is surprisingly good. After getting used to her cutesy roles a la French Kiss, it was refreshing to see her in a tougher role. Denzel was good, and the drug addict medic was fabulous. Kind of a funny line: “I strongly urge you to dismount the car.”
