Spooky. A horror movie in a way, and one of the better horror movies of it’s time. A truly humbling experience. The “Duelling Banjos” scene was great. I like banjos! That inbred kid was really damn freaky. And the tension in the rape scene was really great, too.

Voight was actually cool a long time ago. Roy looked just like David Letterman. How’d they get his arm to do that? Why didn’t they try to save his body?

A bit slow. There are times when the dialogue seems awkward and badly timed, and other times when it just doesn’t seem to go anywhere. A lot of extreme close-ups for an older film. The sound editing was really awful. I really hate it when they keep the movie running when the credits start to roll at the end. The credits seem to get in the way of a story that hasn’t completely ended.
