Jeff's Reviews

Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Enemy at the Gates (2001)

Directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud

Starring Jude Law, Ed Harris, Joseph Fiennes, Rachel Weisz

Author

True story? Never heard of him. What a shot he was. Snipers are always so cool (like Pepper in Saving private Ryan).

Law is magnetic. Weisz is good, unconventionally hot. Fiennes is also pretty good. Strange that when people learn a lesson in the movies, instead of going on to improve themselves and live a better life, they kill themselves (Fiennes).

English accents? To make us more sympathetic? A shortage of Russian stars? What about subtitles? The music and fabulously-styled end credits were very Russian.

Some nice, bloody shots. Inconsistent lighting plagued a few of the scenes.

Great fuck scene between the sensual Weisz and Law.
