Interesting story, funny moments, great characters, great acting, great music, great flavor, and a cool, kinda touching message at the end along with the cool ending. The music and photography worked great together (the Coen brothers seem to be masters at this). The accents gave it a really touch, some comic-relief, and made the movie seem very real. The dialogue seemed kind of stale at times, almost like it was ad-libbed unsuccessfully. It kinda made the characters seem real, though, which I suppose was a good thing. Macy and the cop are great. But how did that Chinese guy fit in to the whole thing? The TV metaphors were really cool.

Part of the charm of the film is that Macy plays a character part but gets lead actor screen time. A magazine pointed that out to me.
