Long, but good enough to keep my interest. I was a bit disappointed that it took about an hour to finally meet Kong, but it picks up.

With the exception of a few character changes (all for the better), it’s pretty faithful to the original. A few old plot questions are answered. Homages in the appropriate places. Jackson did a pretty good job of humanizing the ape and building the relationship between Anne and Kong, therefore making the whole story a lot more dramatic. Amazing what a blond will do to a guy…

I wasn’t too sure about Jack Black, but I think his character was supposed to be a bit tongue-in-cheek, so I guess it works. Everyone else does a pretty good job.

Brilliant action sequences, and the effects are spectacular, especially for Kong. Looks like they really did a lot of research, becuase he seems really genuine. A few obvious scenic CGI moments.
