Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Roman Holiday (1953)

Directed by William Wyler

Starring Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, Eddie Albert, Hartley Power

The location shooting and mobile camera stand out. Lots of great shots around Rome. Loved the pacing, tension, and gentleness of the last few moments.

Hepburn was a cutie, wasn’t she? Lots of natural charisma for a 24-year-old, a ringer as she’d say. It’s no wonder she got the Oscar. Part of Peck’s charm is that doesn’t play it too straight, and the other part is that he wears his pants up around his chest.
