I like how the story was kind of divided into two halves, the rise and fall of Montana. Strangely, I thought the film was over after the first half, but I was happy to see that the story continued and that we had another 90 minutes to go. As I have before, I question De Palma’s direction. There seemed to be quite a few shots which were like, “Hey, look how stylish this shot is!” which didn’t do much for the story. Awesome shot of Montana leaning down on a body shooting at those guys’ legs. And a great final scene, though, with that classic line. I didn’t like that Terminator-ish guy that killed him at the end, though. Who the hell was he?

Pacino was cool as shit. He’s got that no BS attitude, those eyes, that walk, and he did a great job with the accent. He played a chracter very similar to his Godfather character, and he seems to be good at playing characters like that.

Lots of reds, oranges, and browns (also like Godfather). Was this the way the film was shot, or is it just the color fading on the film?
