Was it even a comedy? It’s like they went into each scene without a script or any clue what they were going to improvise. You know the writing is bad when the outtakes are funnier than the movie. And the outtakes weren’t even that funny. If anything, this movie was one long commercial for Quaker State, Tide, and Applebee’s.
I’m not sure Ferrell really has it, to be honest. He’s close, but I’m not sure he really knows what being funny is all about.
