A beautiful, tragic piece of investigative reporting. They did a great job documenting and editing together the mission, though the long, dramatic fades to black a bit much. An amazing turn for one of the driving forces behind Flipper.

With the majestic music and romantic footage, the message here is that killing dolphins is bad. But what about chickens? Or cows? If we could see how chickens or cows or pigs are slaughtered in your average American factory farming facility, the footage would be similarly horrifying. And they’ve made documentaries to that effect. But what about humans? Seems to be that there have now been more documentaries about dolphin-killing than the genocides in Sudan, Rwanda, East Timor, or the ongoing Chinese occupation of Tibet.

Got it, killing is bad. But to imply that dolphin-killing is the worst thing happening in the world today without acknowledging some of these other atrocities and moral dilemmas is irresponsible in my mind.
