Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

Directed by Robert Wise

Starring Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal, Hugh Marlowe, Sam Jaffe

Author

Wise had a good sense of timing, but the movie seems a bit sterile (no art). The genius character (the alien) is obviously representative of Jesus. The movie is a little bit too pumped with political and religious messages for my taste. Good music. It may be time for a remake or sequel for this movie with more special effects and less politics and religion.

Tommy reminded me of SNL’s Stuart Smalley. He must be gay. Or maybe they made him look that way.
