A bit of sugarcoating (was everyone really raring to go?), but at the same time, it doesn’t pull many punches. Overall, it seems to be a pretty faithful, lengthy, documentary-style look at what went on.

Pretty impressive cast. Irina Demick was a hottie.

The different languages helps to make it more authentic. Were the real locations used/damaged for the battle scenes? Was the choice to film in black and white completely intentional?
