Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Uncle Buck (1989)

Directed by John Hughes

Starring John Candy, Macaulay Culkin, Jean Louisa Kelly, Gaby Hoffmann

Author

John Hughes and John Candy show what a great combo they can be. Hughes uses the same great comedy and touching ending he used in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. And it works great. Martin is good, and this might be Candy’s best performance. And this is probably the only movie that I like Macaulay Culkin in. Jean Louisa Kelly, will you marry me?

You will notice a “distracted so much I lose control of the car and then pretend nothing happened when the person in the passenger seat awakes” scene, just like in National Lampoon’s Vacation. Didn’t Hughes write that script?
