Fun concept. The concept of interdimensional communication and love is reminiscent of Interstellar, and there’s an opportunity to make something really emotional here, but the story falls a little short, and it’s all a little too magical for me.

Portrayal of gender roles will surely outrage today’s sensitive crowd, as in this world, men seem to be better at sports and women seem to be better at sewing. Might be the first animation, maybe even first movie, to show the realistic and ubiquitous use of cell phones.

Really beautiful animation. A seamless mix of traditional animation with deep focus, 3D computer techniques gives scenes a wonderful richness and depth.
