Affleck’s direction is polished, and his performance is nicely understated. The rest of the cast is adequate, though I would have liked to see more dramatic tension from the mostly non-actors who played the six escapees.
Pacing may have been a bit off, though. While the escape scene was intense, the hours of set-up leading up to it were a bit slow.
Nice 70’s look and feel. The end credits prove that amazing attention was paid to casting and set design. We get to see what happened to some of the characters, but I’d really like to know what happened to the housekeeper.
