Another disjointed but neatly tied together story about the interconnectedness of life, in the vein of Traffic, Crash, Magnolia, and Grand Canyon. Lots of little “oh cool” moments as the story is stitched together, but I wonder if it have been any less enjoyable if it was presented chronologically. The interconnectedness also helps mask the lack of a story. What’s really the message here?
It’s interesting nonetheless. Well-shot and nicely edited. And a wonderful cast. Proof that non-actors can be at least as good as real actors. Boubker Ait El Caid, as Yussef the sniper, is amazing. Pitt’s not bad. Bernal’s got a nice little career going.
