A toned-down version of Pulp Fiction. I considered it to be a showcase of drug use, although it wasn’t as “hard-core” as the Pulp Fiction display. Pulp Fiction also had a string of interconnected stories, while this movie almost didn’t have a single one at all. It gave a fresh look at high school from another angle, but I think it may have been a bit exaggerated at times. I think Slater was modeled exactly after True Romance’s Floyd. I mean, it could have been the same guy when he was younger.
