Undoubtedly painful for anyone who lived through this. Beautifully shot, wonderfully paced. Daldry is quite a talent.
Horn is extremely engaging and incredibly believable. But one beef with casting him in the role is that he doesn’t look like he’d be the son of Hanks and Bullock. He has an uncanny resemblance to his grandmother, but not his parents. And his photographs of people are also a little too good.
Despite the complexity of the character, Horn’s performance was authentic. But can he also play it straight? If so, then he’s quite an actor. If this is all he’s got, then he’s not. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Fantastic performances from supporting actors von Sydow, Hanks, Bullock, and Wright. Amazing how everything comes together when everyone does their part.
Strange title.
