Eastwood certainly takes his time telling a story. In the first hour and a half, a zipperhead does some gardening. The last few minutes have some drama, but they’re not worth the excruciating setup.
Desperate to find the hint of humor that would have made it tolerable, I tried my hardest to laugh along with the others in the theater at all the grunts and racial slurs. But it’s just not funny. The repetition and creativity used for these racial slurs implies a real attempt at comedy, but it’s cheap and boring humor.
Awful acting and seemingly ad-libbed dialogue all around. An unfortunate finale for Eastwood.
