In terms of style, typical Tarantino. His films revel in the campy filmic style, actors, costumes, and music of the 70’s. In this film, he doesn’t jump around too much like he did in Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. He does it a bit, but only for one scene, and using it selectively makes it cooler and less nauseating. A lot of long takes, which were kinda nice. I question a few of the camera angles on the actors’ faces. Quite often, it was difficult to see them clearly (lots of profiles), and it was kind of distracting. A long film, almost too long. Nice beginning right out of The Graduate.
Forster was great. It was nice to see him back, and his character was pretty cool.
