Reminded me a lot of U-Turn. It had the same kind of whimsical story, characters, intelligent black humor, editing, pace, and camerawork. Only U-Turn was a bit more “experimental” and said that life is bad, and this one was a little more sane and said that life is good. What is it with Lopez and this style of movie? Also a bit of Tarantino time-jumping, which seems like the new norm for cool movies like this. Obvious parallels to Bonnie and Clyde, and it was nice to see them even admit it in the film. Didn’t really get the title. Great ending. And it was a great punctuation mark having Sam Jackson in there like that.

Great casting and acting all around. I always liked Clooney. He’s just such an intelligent, no-bullshit bad-ass (like Pacino and, to an extent, Spacey), and he looks great too. It looks like he might be coming into his own now. Ving is great (for a change), and Lopez is pretty good. Glen and the black guys were great. Kind of awkward seeing Al Brooks in such a minor and unfunny role.
