Jackie Chan’s Who Am I? (1998)

Bad acting, even for a kung fu movie. It’s especially amazing how awful the white, typically Australian actors are. It’s also dumb how everyone, even the executive types, break out with perfect kung fu. How realistic is that? Some decent action on the roof at the end.

Vertigo 2005: U2 Live from Chicago (2005)

Uninspired, documentary-style footage of a U2 concert. Almost no crowd shots. And why Chicago? It doesn’t seem like a particularly interesting venue. Bono flubbing a few lines didn’t help. A concert film should be more than this. U2 3D did it right.

Warrior (2011)

A nicely paced, well-told, real story with real characters. This is a good fighting movie, probably the best since Rocky. Hardy, Edgerton, and Nolte all turn in Oscar-worthy performances.
