A bit different than the other Bond films: heavy on character, somewhat light on action, not much witty dialogue, and almost devoid of a love interest. But the characters and mood do carry it. It’s a good story and a good film.
Bond is reactive instead of proactive, constantly on his heels instead of a man of action. This makes him a lot less cool. And I’m not sure if it was the make-up or lack of make-up, but Craig IS starting to look old. I like what he brings to the role, but how much longer can he really stay this physical? Connery, Moore, and Brosnan played Bond into their 40’s and beyond, but they were much less physical than Craig. Are producers already wondering who the next Bond might be?
Bardem was pretty good. Harris is quality, I like what she brings to the role as Moneypenny. Nice introduction of Q. I guess Marlohe is the Bond girl in this one, but she’s only a story element for 15 minutes.
