Another fable from Miyazaki. The characters (except for Hokul, whose dragon form seems to have been ripped off from The NeverEnding Story), animation, and score are all fantastic, all very similar to Princess Mononoke.
But I have a problem with the story. Just doesn’t seem like the right mix. Too much whimsical fantasy, some inappropriate comic silliness, and not enough human development. And to have have everything hinge on a 10-year-old girl falling in love?
