Pretty good. Same “technology of the future fights back against humans of the past” story as Terminator. Ties together the Star Trek story and Earth reality quite nicely. Amazing effects, at least on par with Independence Day. But I don’t know about the introductory credits. not only were they long and boring, but they hurt my eyes.
Data is, as usual, intriguingly great. The drunken genius is pretty good, but I thought the Black woman was too much of an “injected conflict”. It seemed like they threw her in the story just to have another conflict within the story. It didn’t seem natural. What’s with Star Trek and antagonistic black women?
The Borg is not perfect, though. Not as perfect as it should be. If they were, they’d be completely made of machine, with no “flawed” human components. And they’d be built like the T-1000, so they’d be physically indistinguishable from humans and great at hiding. And if they were halfway intelligent, they’d attack their enemies (people) on sight rather than letting them walk their way into the heart of their operation.
