A classic Spielberg family story with Spielberg photography and music. Some heart-wrenching moments, but the plot holes (which are apparently cleared up in the book I didn’t read) really mess things up. Kind of refreshing to see Blacks being mean to each other rather than the more typical Whites vs. Blacks cinematic interpretation of Black history.
Glover and Whoopi were pretty good. Jackson as the young Celie was great. The flying sheet was a lot like the floating feather in Forrest Gump.
