Craig is solid in the lead, and Mara fills some big shoes with a courageous performance. But why does everyone pull off a Swedish accent except Craig?
Casting choices aside, this film doesn’t have much that is original. The same story (albeit with some slight changes), style, and intensity are present in the Swedish film. The version you see first, you’ll probably like more.
A good movie for Fincher to showcase his signature style. Reznor’s atonal score, reminiscent of the score for Fincher’s The Social Network, adds just the right amount of tension and instability.
