Decent period piece, but a little slow. Most movies from the 70’s were pretty slow. The music is fun, but I’m not really sure it fits.
Newman’s pretty cool, and he really does have amazing eyes. Redford was quite athletic, wasn’t he?
It’s always interesting watching period pieces from different eras. Theoretically, if it’s a well-made movie, you shouldn’t be able to tell WHEN it was made, but inevitably, film techniques, acting quirks, and dated hairstyles creep into it. I wonder if it’s possible to make a period piece and not be able to tell when it was made.
