An interesting reboot of the original storyline. I see how it’s all coming together, and I think I like it. Reeves is taking this franchise and running with it, and this is the best of the new bunch so far.
Nicely paced. This one’s definitely slower paced and more dramatic than the others, which I like. And well-shot. Wonderful effects, perfect as far as I can tell. I love the personalities they’re giving these apes, though Caesar’s scowl and overdramatic vocal patterns get old.
A few fun references to original movies. The 20th Century Fox Fanfare at the beginning is incredible. The styling text summaries of the first couple of films are great as well.
