Could be a continuation of 28 Days Later, shot in a similar style as well. Overall, it’s pretty good, though little of it feels original and there is nothing about it that’s exceptional.
The story and Contagion-like plot twist are pretty good. I like internationalization of the problem, though all we see abroad is an American-staffed military base, an abandoned residential street, and the inside of a health facility. I would have liked to see more of an international response, something which it seems the book does in fact provide.
Early in the story, it’s implied that airlines were the perfect delivery mechanism. Given that the virus is only spread through direct contact, how is that? Did the brilliant Harvard scientist really have to shoot himself in the face? The Israelis had enough money for a wall and helicopters, but not enough for security cameras?
Pitt and the CGI zombies are pretty good.
