Pretty good, but these X-Men movies are starting to get a bit old. In much the same way that the Matrix sequels sucked, all of this franchise’s characters have already been established, all the effects have been done. It feels like there’s nothing new to contribute to the series, making this film just a maintenance installment to tie up loose ends.
Are the days of the superhero movie numbered? After a solid decade of superhero movies, where can the genre go? Will it just be more of the same? Is it only a matter of time before fans get tired of the same stories, the same characters, the same reboots, and the same effects?
We have two timelines coming together in much the same way as Star Trek: Generations, and it’s nice to see everyone together in a single film. Dinklage is a good newcomer. Is this the first time a little person has not played a distinctly little person role (Oompa Loompa, Ewok, Willow, or a superficially comic performance) in a feature film?
