Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Lee draws things out a bit too much. It’s an interesting story, but it’s long and slow. Not a lot happens. Gyllenhaal’s got it. And Ledger actually can act, even if he does sound a bit like Karl from Sling Blade. Great aging make-up on the guys. Beautiful landscape photography.

Reminded me of “Very Bad Things” (I think the characters even refer to that film in the movie), only it’s a bit sloppy and not quite as dark. Acting is pretty good all around.

Sloppy and awkward, it’s a cheap vehicle for Arnie. Arnie’s got a few lines, but not enough to hold the lame story. It sure could have used another name actor.

Lots of familiar faces. Stiller’s comedy is good, but the rest of the slapstick humor is just silly.
Full ReviewSecret Window (2004)
Simple and well-told, acting is pretty good, beautifully shot. All in all, pretty solid. Another in a long line of “is it me or the world around me that’s fucked” paranoia thrillers.
