Ritchie’s film is definitely polished, and Downey’s got some charisma, but it’s all kind of blah story-wise. It’s just not engaging. Holmes’ ramblings are well-researched and impressive, but they’d be a lot more fun if I gave a damn about his struggle.

Woolard’s a very natural actor and portrays Wallace in a very real, very tender way. Even his musical performances are brilliant. The film, I think, attempts to portray Wallace objectively and without pulling any punches. Unfortunately, it’s hard to root for a guy who proves to have questionable morals.

Interesting commentary, some good humor. He’s dead on with a lot of his points, but he enjoys pushing the envelope a little bit, too. Typical Maher. He’s very comfortable up there, maybe a tad too comfortable.

Interesting story, and Moses is an interesting person. I wonder how much of this Old Testament story is real. Interesting that neither DeMille nor Heston were Jewish. Heston’s performance is good.
