Great thriller, seriously creepy and nicely shot. I guess the 80’s were when it was finally OK to tell a story about adultery. Lyne’s definitely got a very specific niche.
Douglas nails it with a great performance, only he is upstaged by Close. Close is scary and scary good, Oscar-worthy. Archer’s cute. Thought Ellen was a boy for the first half of the movie.
What’s interesting and unsatisfying and perhaps lost in all of the drama at the end is that Beth seems to forgive Dan for the cheating and they live happy ever after.
