Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Directed by George Miller

Starring Mel Gibson, Joanne Samuel, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Steve Bisley

Film interpretations of the future are always interesting when watching them in the future. It’s fun to see how people thought things would turn out.

Miller definitely establishes a unique style. The over-the-top characters with dainty Australian accents and personalities gives the film a confusingly goofy tone, but it’s fun to watch nonetheless. Lots of vicious wrecks, with fast-motion and “Oh my God, I’m going to die!” close-ups of bloodshot eyeballs that are different and hilarious.

Neat to see how Mel has evolved. His Terminator-like persistence and costuming is pretty cool. He always seems to play the man who is pushed to his breaking point, with specific scenes showing him breaking physically. Is that a Catholic thing? Toecutter looks like a cross between Mickey Rourke and Rip Torn.

Was there ever a Mad Max video game? Something like Spy Hunter, I would think.
