Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Never Say Never Again (1983)

Directed by Irvin Kershner

Starring Sean Connery, Kim Basinger, Klaus Maria Brandauer, Barbara Carrera

Author

Kind of silly, with the usual Bond schlock and cheesy fight scenes.

Returning to the role after an absence of 12 years, Connery’s getting old at this point, though they sort of address this in the plot. It works. I think a movie showing Bond’s retirement would be cool. Maybe Craig will do it at the end of his 5-picture contract.

The scene with Connery and Atkinson is quite weird.

Basinger’s reaction when she is massaged by a strange man is quite the commentary on how much society has changed since 1983. And that Domination game is a commentary on how much technology has changed. It looks ridiculous.
