Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Sunset Blvd. (1950)

Directed by Billy Wilder

Starring William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim, Nancy Olson

Author

This movie was a surprise coming out of the black and white era of motion pictures. Most pictures out of that era strive for perfection and perfect endings, but this movie showed glimpses of intentional imperfection and a look at the real world of Hollywood.

The movie was very pure in that it covered only a few major characters and a simple, interesting storyline. From an “art” point-of-view, this film was high on the list. However, I feel that the plot could have used a better ending.
