Dark and nostaligic, a lot like Anderson’s Rushmore or Royal Tenebaums, although not quite as dramatically or stylistically over the top, so it sits in that uncomfortable “Is this supposed to be funny or is this supposed to be real?” zone a few times. The horn scene had me crying…
Interesting characters and good acting all around. Breslin is an impressive little kid.
