A lot of films from this period of American history showcased technology newly made available to the public and expressed a certain confidence in adopting it. Technical dialogue and rigid protocol were integral elements of the plot. In this case, the new technology was commercial air travel.
The interwoven stories aren’t that bad. Dean Martin actually pulls it off.
