Bold in its subject matter, but shallow in its execution. Weak story, weak characters, weak acting. Seems like a Tatum vehicle that Soderbergh uninspiringly directed for him.
Brooke is the most interesting character, but she also delivers the weakest performance. And there’s not much else. Tatum can dance, for sure, but there’s not a whole lot of substance to his character. These guys seem remarkably and unrealistically normal for strippers.
The dialogue feels mostly ad-libbed, and the improvisation isn’t that good, with stammering and lines running over each another. The resulting conversations that characters have with each other isn’t all that interesting.
