This is the best vampire movie I have seen. It, for the first time, deals with the subject matter in a mature and realistic way, allowing us to take a serious look at the vampire world and its myths, truths, and feelings. It didn’t have “eerie incoherence” like Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and it didn’t have the “teeny-bopper sillyness” of The Lost Boys. Instead, it had a well-thought out story which was presented in a very enjoyable, interesting, and informative way, with just the right amount of comic and artistic accent.
