Great story. Creepy and suspenseful, with lots of great stings. You can definitely feel the del Toro influence, and it’s also got a Shyamalan suspense quality to it. You don’t see horror like this very often.
Chastain has a sultry, pointy-nosed cuteness. The short black hair and rocker look works for her. Botet was wonderful as Mama. Both kids were perfectly directed and gave wonderful performances.
