It’s pretty obvious that it came from a play. Long takes, faggily theatrical acting, and dated/stunted dialogue, not much score, no montage, little camera movement. Just a collection of large, dialogue-driven scenes.
The young Broderick is good. Same appeal as in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
