A pretty complicated, loaded movie. But even though it had a lot to say, I’m not sure what the overall message was.
The film as a whole is a bit silly and unrealistic, and I think that takes away from the vicious social satire it could have been. The camera=gun and other media=destruction metaphors were pretty cool. The rapping is funny (West-siiiiiide) but gets old. Why is he crying at the beginning? And what is the event in the story which transforms him into an open thinker?
Wouldn’t it be nice if people really applauded that kind of politician? Or if people respected instead of shot those who tried to wake people up and make the world a better place?
