Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Doctor Zhivago (1965)

Directed by David Lean

Starring Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Rod Steiger

Author

Slow and boring, with in-depth studies of few characters and only a couple of different sets. Would make a good play.

Sharif was engaging. Julie Christie’s pretty hot. But why do they all have English accents? Because it makes it more accessible to the audience? Because it’s an English director? Costumes and sets are very nice.

Unfortunately, time passage between certain scenes was not well-conveyed. Was this the first film to start at the end? Some strange focusing problems.
