Surprisingly delicate and sweet and sad.
Foster seems like an interesting, articulate, humble, spiritual guy. His narration is well-paced and natural. His voice and accent are very zen, and I think that does a lot to make the film very gentle and warm and contemplative. I can’t imagine a guy from Brooklyn pulling this off.
The underwater photography is great, amazing how they were able to capture every little moment. How is it that a little shark and little octopus in a chase are completely unaffected by a huge dude and a camera right in their faces? Even the drone footage on and around the beach is high-quality. The subtle scoring really adds to it.
