I’ve always avoided this movie because I thought it would be typical mid-90’s fare: a cheesy, melodramatic, overscripted movie with stock characters, scientific types acting like complete idiots, an awkwardly shoehorned love story, and perfectly exposed, safe cinematography. I was right.
How come Dustin Hoffman stopped making real movies? Spacey gives the performances and dialogue some ballast.
