One of the most depressing and touching movies I have seen in a while. Indiscriminately tugs at your heartstrings like a few other movies in the 80’s, like Beaches.
Fabulous cast. McLain is solid. Winger is fun, endearing, and charismatic. The demise of her character is part of what makes this movie so dramatic. Nicholson is actually just an older version of Stifler from American Pie. The kids are fantastic.
