Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

Directed by Sergio Leone

Starring Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef, Aldo Giuffrè

Author

An epic western. Ironic how one of the greatest American westerns was was shot in Spain with a bunch of Italians. The dubbing is a bit awkward at times. Was it shot in Italian and dubbed in English? Or vice versa? Or both?

Wallach is amazing as Tuco, and Van Cleef is a badass. Eastwood’s pretty cool. How did he get mixed up with all these Italians?

A bit long and slow, although you can make an argument that it works for a movie like this. You can definitely see how Tarantino was inspired by the interspersed storylines and the iconic characters.
